Notes: 龍に鬼 Dragon and Demon’s success set the foundation as an early predecessor for Binnie’s work on his 江戸墨百色 A Hundred Shades of Ink of Edo series which commenced later in 2004. Unlike the tattoos inspired by ukiyo-e masters in 江戸墨百色 A Hundred Shades of Ink of Edo however, here the actual tattoo in Binnie’s design was the actual one inked on the sitting model. A fantastic image which presents wonderfully against the contrast of the stark black background.
