Notes: A fantastic scene depicting the citrus orchards across the Nanyo hillsides of Ehime prefecture. Iyo (伊予) - the former prefectural name to Ehime - has become a region rich for its citrus fruit (柑橘系 “Kankitsukei”). Specifically “Mikan” (みかん), a speciality of Ehime; there are many many varieties such as tangerines, satsumas, & blood oranges - typically sweet & edible, (differing notably from their tart “Yuzu” (柚子) counterparts). “Iyokan” (伊予柑) (initially referred to as “Iyo Mikan”) are a particular mikan famous to the area - large, juicy, & sticky! Ehime is the top producer of citrus fruits in the country.
