Engraved/carved by (彫): Kishima Shigeo (木島重男). Printed by (摺): Itakura Hidetsugu (板倉秀継). “Daimon” & edition seal beneath. The Japan Sumo Association revived the traditional Sumo nishiki-e art in 1985 by commissioning Daimon Kinoshita to create a series of ukiyo-e prints - harnessing the traditional methods & expertise of the artist, skilled carvers, and printers - to depict sumo wrestlers for the opening of the National Sports Arena in Ryogoku. “不許按製” (Rights), “財団法人 日本相撲協会” (The Japan Sumo Association), alongside copyright seal along lower margin.

Notes: A beautiful print capturing the essence of Yokozuna Wakanohana Masaru 花田虎上 (1971-) performing his “dohyō-iri” (土俵入り) ring-entrance ceremony. Masaru Hanada (花田虎上) (known as Wakanohana Masaru), hails from a family renowned for its esteemed sumo legacy, often referred to as the "Hanada Dynasty." Wakanohana Masaru achieved the prestigious rank of Yokozuna (横綱) in 1998, making history alongside his brother Takanohana Koji 貴乃花光司 (1972-) as the first pair of brothers to attain the Yokozuna status. Wakanohana was renowned for his diverse array of techniques, earning the prestigious Gino-sho (技能賞) or "Technique Prize" on six separate occasions. Daimon Kinoshita notes on his website:
