Condition: Clean image face with lovely strong twilight tones. Slight creases to upper margin - thinning to upper edge given evidence of previous mounting verso. Please refer to photos/contact for any further questions & condition report.
Notes: A fabulous woodblock piece depicting 江の島 Enoshima - an island off the Shōnan coast of Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture & one famous for its breathtaking sunset!. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky transforms into a mesmerising blend of vibrant colours, casting a golden glow over the surrounding landscape and the sparkling waters of 相模湾 Sagami Bay. In Konishi’s piece we see Enoshima in wonderful twilight tones captured from the opposing coastline of 七里ヶ浜 Shichirigahama Beach. We can make out a couple strolling beside the crashing waves afore to the streetlights of Enoshima & the 江の島大橋 Enoshima-ohashi Bridge. We can even make out Enoshima’s famous 江の島シーキャンドル Sea Candle Lighthouse poking out!
