Notes: A lovely reflective piece by Masao Ido titled “東福寺 (Tofukuji Temple)”. Founded in the 13th century, Tofukuji Temple is one of Kyoto’s hidden treasures, often overshadowed by more famous sites like Kinkaku-ji and Kiyomizu-dera. Here, Masao Ido presents a beautiful, near-abstract interpretation of the temple's 方丈北庭 (North Garden), designed by Mirei Shigemori in 1938. The garden’s carefully arranged stones, bordered by abundant moss, showcases a fusion of modern elements and traditional karesansui. A fabulous piece and fabulous example of Masao Ido’s “Ido Green” colour palette.
